Campden Charities is a local charity supporting people in Kensington since 1629. We provide grants and advice to people in financial need to make a lasting change in their lives.
For almost four hundred years, in fulfilling the wishes of our founding benefactors, the Campden Charities has responded to the needs of people living in Kensington.
Most of our clients face a range of obstacles which combine to hamper progress towards economic independence and social fulfilment. Such barriers include issues associated with mental and physical health or limited education. We recognise that for many people these barriers will not be easily overcome. Our focus is on training and education for people who are unemployed or in low paid employment to develop the necessary skills that will support them on a realistic pathway to sustainable employment and financial independence. We also support individuals who are not work ready, helping them to engage with society, to make them feel less isolated and not alone.
In the last three years we have made over 1,500 grants to almost 900 new beneficiaries whilst maintaining contact and supporting over 1,000 individuals from previous years.
